    Cardio work out - yes
was 100% compliant until last night when I ate 4 ounces of dark chocolate covered raisins - at least there was fruit! I've known I'm an emotional eater, but when I'm profoundly sad or extremely stressed, it is the hardest to control.
On the up side, I've completely walked away from soft drinks for 2 days now.

  2. So far so good. Cardio was great but I was exhausted and fell into bed. Doing okay on eating and exercising.

  3. @Nichole- Great way to look at it. Onward and upward. Write down at least 5 things that relax you when you are stressed that don't involve food. Next time stress strikes, pick one and try it. If it works, great. If not, next time try the next until you find a solution. The goal is to get to a point where stress doesn't send you to the pantry for at least 99% of the time. It will be an ongoing project but worth undertaking.

@Janis- Great job. The safest sleeping pill ever.

  4. Day 2
Workout - obviously.... Nutrition = 2 splurges today. I know if I am going to splurge it should be one in any given day. One was because I wasn't fully prepared for lunch today so I choose brown rice and black beans over fatty meat like brautwurst. Second was choosen for monthly girls night out and although it was a splurge, I do not have guilt over this one.

  5. @Michelle- I understand your logic. In the future, if you do a vegetarian meal like beans and rice, appropriate portions are approximately 2/3 cups of beans and 1/3 cup of rice. This ratio will lend itself to a decent amount of protein without overdoing the starchy carb serving. Also be sure to pair that combo with cooked veggies or a salad to up the fullness factor without the temptation to eat more rice than necessary. Good workout today!
